The Theatre Royal Plymouth is the largest and best attended regional producing theatre in the UK and the leading presenter of theatre in the South West. We have a national reputation for the production of new plays, for the co-production and development of internationally-renowned dance, drama and musicals, and for our extensive creative learning programme which engages young people, adults and disadvantaged communities. Our award-winning waterfront Production and Learning Centre at TR2, is a unique building with unrivalled set, costume, prop-making and rehearsal facilities.

We are currently seeking a Head of Sponsorship and Membership to be responsible for the profitable and efficient delivery of the agreed Development Strategy, with direct responsibility for generating income through philanthropic, corporate and individual membership schemes, sponsorship and fundraising to agreed targets.

In this key management role you will work closely with the Senior Management team and produce an annual Development Strategy with agreed objectives and financial targets to ensure that all financial targets are achieved.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a fundraising environment, particularly of membership schemes and sponsorship, and ideally of working within a development team in a cultural organisation. Account management knowledge at a senior level is essential along with experience of managing team members.

Due to the nature of the role you will have a flexible adaptable approach to working and be responsive to changing business priorities which will require evening and weekend work on occasion.

This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognised arts organisation. Based in Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, we offer a rewarding career and a remarkable quality of life in an unparalleled coastal location.

Diversity is really important to us. We encourage applicants from different backgrounds with their own varied experiences, skills and stories to come and join our team.
