Job Title: Business Development Manager Are you an experienced technical sales professional with a background in electronics systems hardware or related software for the construction industry, looking for the next challenge? Business Development Manager – The Role: Supported by a larger German parent company, this entrepreneurial Queens Award winning UK business has an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional to join the company in a senior position to lead the next phase of growth. Traditionally supplying electronics systems into the construction industry, they have the R&D capacity to create innovative solutions for the toughest of industrial applications and as such, are now looking for a Business Development Manager to harness this and open up new market opportunities. Liaising with the R&D team internally you will be able to commercialise innovative solutions and be able to spot opportunities and think of how the R&D skills in the business might be able to best provide solutions for new applications in new sectors. There is also a big opportunity to open up their core market in construction further. You will be dealing with customers worldwide and working closely with the Directors in Germany, however the UK business retains and SME feel so you must be able to build relationships at all levels accordingly. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with ambition, drive and entrepreneurial flair to lead a business without restraint and who, if they can demonstrate success, there is real potential for them to be made a Director in the business in the future. Business Development Manager – Key Responsibilities: · Identify & develop new markets and applications for products in the UK and overseas markets · Present new product developments to appropriate customers · Work collaboratively with and provide direction for R&D and engineers during origination & structuring of new business deals to ensure any prototypes are commercially viable · Set growth targets for the business and maintain accurate forecasting Business Development Manager – Experience Required: Track record of sales experience in a technically biased company Ideally experience of working in the construction, surveying, electronics, communications or IT industries Business Development Manager – Personal Attributes Required: Entrepreneurial spirit and excited by new challenges Willingness to travel as and when required both within the UK and internationally Interested in and capable with new technology Ability to speak another European language would be an advantage but is not essential This role is office based on the outskirts of Greater London near Heathrow airport with great transport links to enable travel to meet with potential customers and accounts as the role demands. The role might suit someone who had been and owner/founder of a related technical SME previously as well as someone operating in sales management but who has the ambition to lead their own operations.
