Head of Hard Services Head of Hard Services required to join a leading South West Facilities company to manage and direct the delivery of all contracts for Reactive Response and Minor works, ensuring that contract delivery is safe, of a high quality and cost effective. Girling Jones require a Head of Hard Services to manage assigned budgets ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money, and continue developing an ongoing relationship with suppliers of materials or services to Facilities Management. Your New Position Reporting to the Operations Director, as Head of Hard Services you will have full responsibility for the management and supervision of the team. - Maintain regular contact with customers to install trust and credibility in the delivery of service and provide a lead role in monitoring and increasing customer satisfaction. - Determine the appropriate levels of labour, materials and plant required to undertake each contract and meet agreed profit targets ensuring that allocated resources meet duration and quality targets, addressing and correcting under-performance issues. - Ensure all work meets contract specification/client requirements and is undertaken in accordance with current regulation, standards of practice, to an acceptable standard of quality and health and safety. - Measure preventative maintenance compliance and performance against specification and KPI's on a monthly basis for each Contract and deliver a Monthly Performance Report to each customer. - Resolve Hard Services issues, monitor complaints and establish their underlying causes, test and implement effective corrective action, escalating when necessary and ensuring that issues which may become a problem are handled effectively and efficiently - Manage subcontractors and suppliers to deliver goods and services against contract, ensuring that we engage only suitably trained, competent and certificated workers in line with Minor Works procedures and CDM Regulations. - Drive and promote a positive safety culture within the service workforce including subcontractors and suppliers utilising our SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) Team where appropriate - Support customers in the implementation of short duration Minor Works as requested. - Undertake gap analyses of our various contracts PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) schedule against site assets. Report and align with our customer and drive mitigation and risk. - Establish and operate information systems necessary for effective scheduling and recording of all works. - Coordinate the appointment of authorised Persons for respective fields (Electrical, confined space etc.) - Promote company values, drive performance, develop the team's skills and competencies to enhance the service and provide opportunity for self-improvement. What you'll need to succeed - Proven experience within a similar role - Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach - Demonstrable experience in subcontractor management essential - Line management experience with a high level of motivation, energy, drive and enthusiasm - Excellent knowledge and application of H&S and Environmental matters - Detailed understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and standards - Decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale - Highly literate and experienced with IT - Expert at interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level - Excellent level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes Qualifications - HND/HNC or equivalent within an engineering discipline - NEBOSH and/or IOSH - Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. BIFM) What you'll get in return In return a market leading salary plus package The next step?
