We currently have a vacancy for a:

Despatch Supervisor

An exciting new role has been created in our Despatch department.  We are looking for someone with a proactive approach, who is able support and deputize for the Despatch Manager in the day-to-day running of the Despatch department.  To be successful in this role you will need strong supervisory and coordination skills to oversee the smooth running of the department.

Applicants will need:

  • Ideally you will have previous knowledge/experience of manufacturing despatch processes
  • Understanding of job costing and estimates
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work in a high speed deadline driven environment
  • Experience working with industry standard systems and processes (ISO 9001, 14001, 1800, 27001)

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Team working with the Despatch Manager to ensure the department runs smoothly
  • Supervision and coordination of the Advances Room and POD Despatch
  • Provide cover for the Advances Room and POD Despatch on a rotational basis
  • Provide cover for the Despatch Manager in their absence
  • Daily Despatch with recognised despatch companies
  • Ensuring quality check sheets are checked with 100% accuracy prior to despatch
  • International shipping quoting
  • Liaise with couriers and suppliers via e-mail and telephone
  • Keep pace systems up-to-date
  • Booking pallets into various warehouses
  • Resolve disputes quickly and promote a proactive approach and response
  • Production of  labels and delivery notes

The contracted hours for the role will be: 40 per week (Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day)

Salary: £411.13 per week (£10.27 per hour)
