With offices based throughout Cornwall my client is looking to recruit a number of Employment Adviser’s to join their team. The role will see the candidate being responsible for the attraction, registration and progression of candidates to achieve placements. An Employment Adviser will use a variety of techniques including effective diagnosis, individual and group coaching, maximising on any funding available to achieve sustainable employment of qualifying individuals whilst working towards strict targets and guidelines in accordance to programme obligations and processes.
Key duties to include; attracting and enlisting of candidates maintaining up-to-date knowledge and strong relationships with partners and community organisations for Mandatory programmes. For Voluntary programmes it may include conducting outreach activity. Contribution to team efforts by liaison with the Marketing team on content and design for marketing material, distribution of material and negotiation of referral agreements. Employment Advisers plan for their appointments with candidates to ensure effective use of time, rapport building and an adequate two way exchange. In some cases they may hand out induction material using a variety of forms and processes. Provision of excellent levels of customer service is key.
Additional duties will see the Employment Adviser identifying job ready candidates and progressing appropriately. Actively manage Government financed spend also known as Personal Job Accounts (PJAs) to apply full resources that achieve sustainable employment. Expectation to sell the benefits of a specific Member to Employers or internal contacts to achieve job placements will be required. Researching the individual Employer assessment process and preparing the candidate accordingly. Management of relationships with Employers and negotiation of the process to ensure placement, following up with both the Member and the Employer to ensure a smooth transition and employment. Conducting risk assessments on their candidates to identify the appropriate levels of support required using coding. Mentoring candidates through employment maintaining regular contact with them, the Employer, and in some cases the Recruitment Manager, Employment Services Manager and/or Account Manager. Ensure accurate and timely recording and review of all candidate details and requirements through every intervention is necessary. Adherence to all administrative requirements of programme delivery is mandatory.
Candidates applying for this role will be empathetic & adaptable with excellent customer service skills. Comfortable in a target driven environment and process driven. Excellent IT and record keeping skills. A background of having worked within an Employment Adviser, Recruitment Consultant or HR role previously will be of great advantage. Full training will be provided.
