The role of Support Worker with The Salvation Army is an inspirational one and key to achieving successful outcomes for our vulnerable clients. We are now looking for two dynamic and committed individuals to join us and support our lifehouse in Plymouth.

Devonport House is a short term residential service supporting people to achieve longer term independent living, their life goals and change the face of homelessness.

As a motivated and dynamic Support Worker you will be responsible for developing and delivering a high quality programme of support which promotes client choice and control. You will address client support needs, enable them to achieve positive life changes and ultimately empower them to lead more sustainable lifestyles.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of the main support needs commonly faced by homeless and vulnerable clients
  • An understanding and ability to work within the Mission and Values of The Salvation Army acting in a professional and ethical way at all times when representing the organisation
  • The ability to support the Spiritual Programme running within the service where required and an approach that respects the diversity of other people’s culture, faith and practice.

Details: Working on a rota basis, Monday to Sunday, hours between 07:30 and 21:00 depending on shift pattern
