Reporting to the Managing Director on a day to day basis and with a strong line of communication to the Group Finance director, the Finance Director will be responsible for all the financial, accounting, cash control and key administration within the business including the production of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, group reporting, year-end accounts and managing a small team of accounts and administration staff. The position will suit a flexible hands on qualified Finance Director or Financial Controller looking to step up from a small to medium size business with strong reporting, man management and IT systems skills. Key Job Functions and Responsibilities Contribute to the overall management of the Company as a key member of the Senior Management Team Play a key role within the A&P Group Finance function with regard to Group policies Requirement to attend A&P Group Finance and Senior Management meetings (inc. travel) Management of a small accounting and I.T. team Produce weekly P&L and cash forecasts Produce Monthly Management Accounts and Year End audited accounts to strict deadlines Co-ordinate and produce all Budgets, Forecasts, Strategic and Business plans as required Monitor and develop reporting, MIS, Productivity and other key business measures Strict control of cash and spend to achieve targets and plans within short time periods Manage the work and development of staff members Prepare monthly forecast update, primarily by working closely with department heads in forecasting their department’s overheads Preparation of semi annual parent company reporting package Prepare or review annual audit work papers Preparing annual audited financial statements Special projects as required The successful candidate will ideally have: A recognised professional accountancy qualification i.e. ACA/ACCA/CIMA Extensive post qualification experience preferably gained within a contracting / project accounting environment Ability to work under own initiative to strict deadlines Good communication and inter-personal skills and a team player Strong organizational and management skills Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
