7593 - Pavement and Grounds Supervisor
The Company and the Role: Our Client is a subsidiary of a leading global provider of design, engineering, program management, construction management, and operations and maintenance support. They provide facilities management support to the International Peacekeeping Force which operates in the Sinai, Egypt. They are currently seeking Pavement and Grounds Supervisor to be based at the South Camp located at Sharm El Sheikh in the Sinai. The position is offered on an 18 month contract, renewable. Key Features of the Role: Reporting into the Facilities Engineering Manager, you will supervise, plan, schedule and direct the activities of Egyptian personnel engaged in grounds maintenance and Heavy Equipment Operations. You will make short and long-range planning recommendations regarding fiscal needs, construction, maintenance and repair of roads and parking lots, athletic areas and company landscaping and supervise tasks concerned with maintaining the appearance and condition of grounds, gardens, walkways and roads on company facilities. You will assist in the planning of landscaping and other grounds projects by preparing rough sketches and schedules, and estimates of manpower, materials and equipment necessary to accomplish the project. You will be responsible for supervising the operation and maintenance activities involving the P&G department and will also ensure operational and maintenance operations under your responsibility are carried out in strict accordance with the Company's current safety rules and operating procedures; also in accordance with standard industry practice. You will be responsible for organising onsite preventive and corrective maintenance operations which are placed under your responsibility. You will assist the planning team by giving any technical support for the preparation of the jobs in your discipline. Knowledge and Skills: You will have extensive experience, with experience in a supervisory role, in service industry involving Grounds Maintenance and Heavy Equipment operations and quality inspections. You will have a recognized Heavy Equipment Certification/License from your Home Country with experience in roads and ground maintenance operations and be an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with knowledge of truck and equipment operational safety. You will have experience in the operation of front end loaders and cranes, and other pieces of heavy equipment. You should be a confident communicator with the ability to supervise, motivate, coach and train a team of Egyptian nationals. You will be flexible, possess initiative and able to pick things up quickly. Experience of working in a military environment or for an international facilities management services provider and other similar organisations would be ideal, as would experience of working in remote sites or in other arduous environments. Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Finally, you should be pc literate and possess a Drivers Licence What's on Offer? The basic salary is paid in the currency of your citizenship and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. An 18 month unaccompanied status contract is offered which includes free accommodation, laundry, local transport, life assurance, disability insurance and meals. In addition, employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and the internet for e-mails etc. The R and R entitlement is 38 days over the 18 month contract plus 12 public holidays a year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are paid for by our client.
