Position - Home Manager - Dementia - PlymouthRef - STWPHMLocation - PlymouthSalary - £43,500 per annumHours -Full Time - 40 hoursMy client is currently recruiting for their beautiful and modern purpose build site that specialists Dementia home with Nursing Care. Providing high quality care is uppermost in their thoughts and they envisaged a totally different approach in the management of Dementia at all level.Your role will be to facilitate and manage the care of 64 residents within the home, which will provide nursing care to individuals with differing degrees of dementia. To work with residents, staff and other team members to ensure that all areas of the home meet a high measurable standard.Purpose of PositionTo lead the team and demonstrate a caring approach that celebrates the individuality of their residents and focusses on their strengths and aspirations whilst recognising their needs. To manage effectively all aspects of the home with regards to business operations and financial viability and in line with the values with which Waypoints operates be responsible for its development in terms of philosophy of care. To provide professional leadership to staff within the home and have on going responsibility for the delivery of appropriate care practice, staff development and education. To create an effective communication network within the home to ensure that information is received in a timely and accurate manner. To encourage a "spirit of enquiry" within the home and ensure that residents, staff and relatives are encouraged to raise concerns.Main Purpose of Role To provide professional leadership to staff within the home and have on going responsibility for care practice, development and education. To act as team leader for a specific group of residents and care staff. To develop, document and implement individualised care plans for residents and to be actively involved in the day to day care of residents. To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop residents independent living skills. To ensure an effective communication network within the Home to ensure that information is received in a timely and accurate manner. Key Tasks To act in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and to ensure that the highest standard of appropriate care is provided at all times; ensuring always that the personal dignity of the resident is respected. To lead a multidisciplinary team to enable/ensure that residents' individual programmes of care are developed, executed and measured. To be responsible for the staffing of the home ensuring that it meets the requirements of the local registration authority and the needs of the residents at all times. To lead the team assisting in the assessment of individuals' care need, and in the overall planning and management of care within the home. Maintain a multidisciplinary approach to care and ensure an environment exists which acknowledges and respects residents' rights to choice, freedom and individual dignity. To develop contacts with local authorities and other relevant parties to negotiate and maximise levels of occupancy.Qualifications and ExperienceRMN/RGN (1st level nurse) with at least three years post qualifying experience, two years of which should have been at ward manager level.
