PRP is a large interdisciplinary practice providing architecture and a range of complementary design and consultancy services such as energy and sustainability for clients in the development, construction and low carbon growth sectors. As part of this service offering, our environmental team are leading an ERDF funded project called Cornwall New Energy.  

The Cornwall New Energy project will provide Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with business support, which will aim to improve their economic and environmental performance. The project will support the SMEs in securing business opportunities, arising from the development and growth of a low carbon and local energy market in the region, as well as similar export opportunities beyond the region.

Specifically designed to help SMEs overcome key barriers that they face, the Cornwall New Energy project will help them realise their full potential in this major, high growth sector.

To support with the development of this project, we are looking for candidates based in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly for the following role: 
Technical Delivery and Business Development Manager - 18 months - Fixed Term Contract, part-time (30 hours per week or 22.5 hours per week for a longer duration)  

The role will be to identify appropriate SME's in the local area and sign up those suitable onto the Cornwall New Energy project, as well as develop and provide business support services to SMEs which lead to completed project outputs against set targets while providing fortnightly performance updates.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate strong business development and sales skills, ability to work against targets and a good knowledge of businesses in the area.

You will be developing and maintaining links with local organisations and technical associations as part of this role. You will also need to procure subcontractor services and oversee and co-ordinate the delivery of these services.

A strong technical knowledge related to energy generation, storage and efficiency in the building sector is important therefore. Experience of delivering previous ERDF projects is desirable.

You must have a valid, clean driving licence and use of own vehicle for commercial purposes.    

You will be working from our office in Truro but required to travel throughout Cornwall and potentially to the Isles of Scilly.
